The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) is a U.S. national trade organisation that represents the country’s leading providers and marketers of distilled spirits products. DISCUS acknowledges its responsibility to educate the American public on the safe consumption of alcohol. As part of this commitment, they launched a public education campaign urging Americans to moderate their drinking during the holiday season. The campaign was called “ABCs of ABVs” and outlined clear guidelines to follow during a time when drinking behaviour is known to spike.
